platforms.

I started my UI training and experience in various versions of SharePoint. I am quickly learning Squarespace, and have experience with the Wild Apricot platform as well. I work with Adobe Creative Suite, OmniGraffle, SharePoint Designer, and more. I am currently learning Sketch and responsive design. See my resume for more details.

sharepoint

I have been working with SharePoint since 2005. I have deep experience with both 2010 and 2013 on premise and online versions. My experience includes migrations, workflows, farm build outs, administration, training, and light development.

squarespace

Navigate around this site. It is built on Squarespace. It's my living portfolio for my art and design. I really love what Squarespace has to offer. Elegant styles and templates, customization, flexibility, and ease of management give this platform five stars.

wild apricot

As a volunteer web designer and administrator for the Atlanta Yacht club, I have been working with this feature packed platform designed for non-profits for a few years. It is a wonderful platform for events, membership, billing, forums, communications, and information.

comps.

I can build your design in a full color comp to specifications. I can develop a clickable high fidelity comp as well. Once a design is decided upon, I can implement it as well, no matter how custom it may be.

sharepoint online - dynamic link table and accordion FAq with nested calendar

This EY client wanted to display their links in a clickable table, a dynamic navigation element (done with JQuery, JavaScript, and CSS) with a scaled down calendar nested in one of the expanded containers.

sharepoint online - gif hero banner, custom buttons

This EY client wanted a GIF banner showing 3 different images and ‘better questions’ pertaining to their mission. I also added custom image buttons, a video, and custom navigation buttons with icons on the right. All content is responsive.

sharepoint online - custom image buttons and dynamic Faq accordion

This EY client wanted clickable images larger than the standard promoted links, and a dynamic FAQ accordion. The accordion was done with JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS to customize and make responsive. I also added a GIF banner.

sharepoint online - responsive custom clickable images

This EY site has little text on the home page - the client wanted to highlight teamwork and a feeling of movement and a journey. I sliced up an image, added a title, and added bootstrap code to make the page responsive.

sharepoint online - dynamic members list

This EY site is fairly standard, with the exception of the dynamic members list. I took a standard contacts list and added functionality to enable the display of member’s SharePoint and AD profile with online status bar, allowing to contact the member with a click or two.

SHAREPOINT ONLINE - JAVASCRIPT/JQUERY FAQ ACCORDION

This site was developed for an internal Ernst and Young career team. I took a Content Editor web part and added some CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery to transform it into an expandable/collapsible FAQ accordion, which is also responsive to the browser window size. I also added a video and responsive hero banner.

Sharepoint 2013 on premise - highly custom

This comp was developed by the client as a requirement. Using a SharePoint 2013 on premise development site, the design was implemented using a custom HTML page, custom master page, custom navigation, and multiple third party web parts that I further customized to meet the client's requirements. We also used Javascript and custom display templates to surface all of the content required. I then packaged the final design as a .wsp package and created implementation documentation for the client. Finally, I consulted and guided the internal client implementation team on the production installation and go live.

Sharepoint 2013 on premise - moderately custom

This one was another 2013 on premise installation. I was the lead consultant on the branding phase of this project, and led stakeholder meetings and interviews, produced multiple wireframes, produced the full color comp seen here, and performed all of the development and technical set up to meet the requirements. This design leads with a third party clickable hero slider, multiple other custom third party web parts, and a one off custom developed web part to display the news. Additionally, this site includes an aftermarket mega menu solution that was styled and developed to meet the client's wishes. See the wireframe section below for the related wireframes.

sharepoint 2013 - highly custom

This comp was produced by an agency, and I built and styled the client's site shown on the left. I utilized custom Javascript to add clickable links to the web part headers, customized a Promoted Links web part, and used a Content Search Web Part with a custom display template to surface news articles from various locations. I also implemented a custom suggestion box solution as well as a social media web part to display client social feeds. The design is a refreshing updated look for SharePoint. I built this site in a development environment for QA and UAT, and then rolled the site out live with an overnight cut over. Another happy client.

Sharepoint online/office 365 - lightly custom

SharePoint Online presents some challenges for designers and developers not found in the on premise versions. Of course, I can always find ways to refine the look and feel. Here, the client did not have design requirements, so we went straight to some basic wireframes to define the content, and then on to a mock up. This design uses one custom image slider utilizing CSS and Javascript customizations, a Content Search Web Part with a lightly customized display template, and a customized out of the box Promoted Links web part. I also tweaked the navigation layout to optimize space in the header.

wireframes.

I've used a number of different tools to produce wireframes - Basalmiq, Visio, Photoshop, even PowerPoint. Mostly I use Basalmiq because it gets the job done quickly and has a short learning curve.

sharepoint 2013 on premise design 1

This client had a 2010 production site, and wanted to retain a fair amount of the content and functionality, but was looking for a refreshed look for the new 2013 site. We started with a few wireframes that showcase some of the newer, more modern web parts and a custom solution that was developed by the firm where I was working at the time.

SHAREPOINT 2013 ON PREMISE DESIGN 2

This was option 2. The final version was a little different, and then was revised during site development as well. Nothing is written in stone, as they say! Well, almost nothing in SharePoint.
