So you may be asking yourself, what does the word 'nalu' mean? The word is Hawaiian in origin and most commonly refers to to waves or the ocean surf. To nalu also means to meditate, ponder, or contemplate. To 'Nalu It' translates into 'go with the flow' and be mindful at the same time. This way of thinking and living resonates with me and thus makes a great umbrella concept for my art. Also, the 'koru' or swirl that is the nalu logo represents this concept in its shape and motion.

Through the twists and turns of my path and studies in life, I have found  ho'ohanawork with purpose, passion, and full intention. It hasn't come easily or quickly, but I have deep gratitude for the journey and where it has led. I love creating things, especially out of old things either found, repurposed, or even reimagined. I love taking an ancient piece of stone, such as the jade with which I primarily work, and create a piece of art that may remain for thousands of years. It's also fun to create art that has a more finite life. I just nalu it, you know?

I also love to work in the digital design world, primarily in the User Interface arena of web design. I started working in SharePoint, and am branching out to other platforms as my skills grow, such as Squarespace. I not only do the design, but do front end development with HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, and more. I enjoy creating friendly and engaging sites and designs to satisfy my clients' needs and wants.

I do a fair amount of carpentry, wood work, and home remodeling as well. There is something cathartic about taking a stack of material and creating something new.

Jade! I discovered a few years ago that I am a jade carver. I source jade from all over the world for my creations, and get a lot from the Big Sur, California area. I go there any chance I get. Check out my galleries for photos of my work in jade, woodbuilding, photography, and UI/digital web design.

Oh yeah, I love to take photographs and paint too.

At my core, I am a nature and water lover, mystic, seeker of truth, tinkerer, and artist. My search and curiosity have taken me to some interesting places, irrevocably changing me and the way I view the world and humans. There is much more that I am into than I will describe here. Check out my blog and perhaps you will find out more.

I also love to garden. To cook. Ride my mountain bike. Paddleboard, Kayak. Wakeboard. Fly fish. Read. Travel. Practice Energy Therapy.

Finally, all would be amiss if I didn't mention my foundation - my lovely wife Adrienne and two beautiful children. We live north of Atlanta in Woodstock, Georgia. We are all water creatures and love to go nalu.
